Why Use Facebook Video for Your Brand

Did you know that videos are one of the most immersive ways to share and discover on Facebook?

In the past five years, video content has seen tremendous growth. But it’s not just YouTube that’s experiencing an upward shift. Facebook has grown to become a video giant of its own. Here are some stats you need to keep in mind for Facebook video marketing:

  • A Facebook video receives, on average, 135% more organic reach than a Facebook photo (Socialbakers, 2015).
  • Over 8 billion videos or 100 million hours of videos are watched on Facebook every day (TechCrunch, 2016).
  • 65% of people who watch the first three seconds of a Facebook video will watch for at least 10 seconds, and 45% will watch for 30 seconds (Facebook, 2016).
  • 85% of Facebook videos are watched without sound (Digiday, 2016)
  • Facebook is rated as the most impactful social channel for video — 8.4X higher than any other social channel (Animoto, 2016).

  1. I’ve share a video or two on FB but I’m one of those people that almost always scrolls by without stopping for videos. And I definitely watch them with the sound off! You have some good points on here, and the stats are pretty crazy. I’m just getting into videos on YouTube, so I’ll keep these tips in mind for FB as well!

    1. Don’t forget that Facebook algorithms prefer that you upload any video to Facebook rather than link your post to a YouTube video. Facebook just likes people staying on Facebook instead of going to another social media platform.

  2. Some really great tips here as I have never done a video for Facebook but its something I would like to do. Its on my to-sort out list and you have given me some good starting points 🙂
